A long-time sword-figher, but a brand new SCAdian. I authorized for sword and shield heavy combat at Maidens 2010, and am enjoying learning my way around this new style of combat. It's proving very challenging, and just as fun. For my persona, I've decided to go with French, but haven't picked a period yet. Réveillez le fer!
I've also begun playing around with rapier. I've never fenced before, so this presents a completely new experience, and one I've been enjoying a lot. I've orderd a Hanwei 43" rapier to start out, and I look forward to exploring this new style.
I spend most of my time as a student, about to finish up my degree in Fish and Wildlife Conservation. My free time (whatever little that amounts to) is spent reading, sword-fighitng with multiple groups, and fishing. Not a bad mix, I think.
