Wurm Wald Yule Party

Archery and Combat Practice 2:00-4:00

Other Formal Activities starting at 4:00

Location: 307 E Fawn Dr, Mahomet, IL.

For more info, call Aleator at: 217-418-8942

Thomas is planning to attend and run archery for the afternoon.  I also have a kid's bow now, so if there are younger folks that want to shoot or try, there will be a bow and arrows closer to the proper size.

Weather note: Mahomet is doing a good job plowing the streets. Don't know how the highways are. Feel free to park in the driveway. There is a lot of snow in yard: 6+". If you are going to shoot arrows, the arrows must end up in my yard. (That way, if they get lost, they won't be on public property.

Other Activities:

Music Guild will provide songs and music

Cooking Guild will discuss food

Brewers Guild will discuss brewing and vinting

Dancing - Elspeth will bring the dance materials

Emma will be bringing supplies for making site tokens for Maidens. The more people who lend a hand, the faster they'll get done!

Sofya: If there's enough interest, I'm thinking of bringing leatherwork supplies and teaching how to make a mug strap to go on a belt. This can happen when the site tokens project is not going on. If you want to learn how to make a mug strap, lemme know (or leave a comment here) by Saturday morning!

Pot Luck Dinner starting at 6:00. If you don't bring a dish, expect to pay $6/head. If your clan is bringing a dish or dishes, please spend about $6/head for ingredients.

If you need some ideas about what to bring, here are some recipes the cooking guild has posted. If you don't want to cook, yet want to bring food, call Aleator and he will provide suggestions.

List of people and the dishes they are bringing:

  • Dianne, Aleator, and family: Roast Kabobs, tea, and frozen from St. Joe: honey butter, garlic butter, and the barley/onion/garlic dish.
  • Thomas/Elspeth - cider, mulled cider/wine, hard cider.
  • Kendrick/Katerina - Mushroom stew, white tart, fresh bread.

List of pot luck "staples" that don't require cooking that someone should probably bring. If not brought, the money collected will go to buying these staples.

  • Bread
  • Cheese
  • Cider
  • Beer
  • Wine
  • Nuts

I am in favor of a gift exchange! $5 suggested spending amount per gift, or something handmade. Is there interest in having a separate gift exchange for kids?

The gift exchange was a lot of fun last year. Let's do it again!

Well, I can certainly bring more mead. Scott will bring Chimay Blue. I will also bring some bread. We will be driving and needing directions or a rider who knows where they are going.

So we are all on board for the gift exchange. Was there going to be one for kids? I can tick off 4-5 off the top of my head....

Oh, BTW, I invited our new member and she is planning on coming. Hope that's OK. Her name is Sybil mka Daylene.

Huzzah! As for the kids' exchange, I haven't heard from anyone else with kids but I'd say go for it. Even if no one else brings a kid's gift your daughter can have something to unwrap.
