What about making a LibraryThing where everyone can post information about their own personal collections as well as the Shire collections? LibraryThing is really easy to use and really easy to annotate, which would let us share our opinions of how valuable certain books were for certain projects (i.e. "page 53 is the best recipe for _____ to scale up to Maidens quantities" or "page 98 has information Lady X might want to use for her project Y"). It's also searchable, taggable, and shareable.

(says the enthusiastic library-and-info-scientist :D)

I've never used it, but it sounds like a good resource. :-)

OK, it's been made! I've filled in some of my books (aka the ones still on the coffee table). I'll hand around the shared password at the next meeting, so as not to post it in public. :D
