Newcomers' Moot Invitation
Date: Saturday, August 29th NOTE DATE CHANGE, sorry to all attending Foxhunt.

1:00-5:00: South Quad and Stock Pavilion {pavilion is at 1402 W Pennsylvania Ave, Urbana & the South Quad is to the north of the building} (Thomas is coordinator for this site)(Site is reserved 11:30-5:30)
4:30-10:30: Channing-Murray {1209 W. Oregon, Urbana} (Bran is coordinator for this site)
Schedule:
Afternoon:
Combat, heavy & rapier (if there is a large showing, this will probably move into the Stock Pavilion for safety.): Demos at various times. Aleator will give first lesson in armored and/or rapier combat to interested bystanders.
All A&S, Music, etc. that people are willing to bring
General socializing.

Evening Programming (activities during and after the feast): (Bran)
The main officers of the shire will each speak briefly (3-5 minutes) about an aspect of the SCA:
- Seneschal (Sofya): welcome; what is historical reenactment and the SCA
- Pursuivant (Bran): courtesy is the heart of the Dream; heraldry and the Dream
- Marshal (Aleator): types of combat; [what are the core values for combat? safety and prowess?]
- Minister of Arts & Sciences (Jenna): the diversity of Arts & Sciences; creativity and authenticity
- Exchequer (Emma): the importance of service; what an event is like
- Chatelaine (Sarah): upcoming activities and events; loaner stuff available
The Music Guild will play a couple of sets. (Jenna)
We will have a fashion show, introducing the newcomers to SCA garb. (Anntionette Rose)

At Guild on 7/24 we were in agreements that the Guild funds will pay for ingredients on some dishes…please contact Jenna for more information. The pork loins were previously purchased by the Shire and the meat in the camiline pies is being donated.
